New Hampshire Reaches 99% Broadband Access and Ranks Top 10 Fastest State in the Nation for Internet Speeds
For years, expanding reliable broadband access across New Hampshire has been a priority for communities, businesses, schools, healthcare providers, and state leaders. Today, that effort is delivering remarkable results.
According to New Hampshire's latest broadband data, the Granite State has now reached 99% broadband access, leaving fewer than 5,000 addresses statewide unserved. At the same time, New Hampshire has been recognized in the top ten for fastest internet speeds in the United States, with a median download speed of 185.18 Mbps.
Together, these milestones position New Hampshire as one of the most digitally connected states in America.
A Statewide Broadband Achievement
Nearly four years ago, New Hampshire set an ambitious goal to bring broadband access to every address across the state. NH Broadband is proud to be part of that effort by offering high-speed, 100% fiber internet to over 40,000 residents.

New Hampshire Among America's Fastest States

A 2026 analysis from HighSpeedInternet.com, which examined more than 4.7 million speed tests nationwide, found that New Hampshire ranks 3rd in the nation for internet speed, trailing only Delaware and New Jersey. New Hampshire's median download speed reached 185.18 Mbps, well above the national median of 131.94 Mbps. While another study by Faro ranked New Hampshire seventh. The Union Leader reports, "statewide, New Hampshire scored well because there was much less of a separation between the fastest and slowest county than was found in the nation overall, the study said."
The report highlights a growing divide between states that have invested heavily in broadband infrastructure and those still facing connectivity challenges. New Hampshire's ranking demonstrates the effectiveness of continued investment in broadband expansion and network upgrades.
